
User Persona Creation
Persona representing the target market for Airbnb.
BACKGROUND
This persona represents the major user group of Airbnb, a platform that connects people looking to rent their homes with people who are looking for accommodations.
Airbnb allows hosts to rent out their spaces and travelers to search for and book the style of house they want to live in. This service is available worldwide in 191 countries and is unique because of the local experience it offers to travelers. A user is able to search for the homes filtering by dates, number of guests, home type, price, and location.
When the time comes to reserve the home, they can do so by creating a profile. Users can view the property’s photos, amenities, previous reviews, and the hosts ratings to help in their decision making. After the reservation has been made, the user has to wait for the host to confirm arrangements from their side. Once both sides have confirmed, they can begin their communications through the messaging feature provided on the application. The cancellation policies differ by host so it’s important for users to keep those in mind if plan changes occur.
